Who We are
- We are a non-denominational Christian Church located in Downey.
- We are a family-oriented church who long to see your whole household come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and serve Him to the glory of God.
- Our great commitment is to
- The Great Commandment. Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.” – Matthew 22:37-38.
- The Great Commission. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28: 19-20.
- We desire to love God, love others, and to express that love by sharing Jesus with the world!
We believe:
- That the Bible is God’s Word, inerrant and infallible in matters of faith and practice.
- In the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- That Jesus Christ came into this world by virgin birth; that He died on the cross in our place; rose physically from the dead; is now seated at the right hand of God and will return to reign for a thousand years.
- In the convicting, regenerating, indwelling and empowering ministry of the Holy Spirit.
- That all men are eternally lost and need to be saved from sin, its penalty and power by accepting Christ and Christ alone, by faith.
- That all believers in Jesus Christ are united in His Body, His Church.
- That all believers should belong to a local church, to worship, observe water baptism and the Lord’s Supper and live lives that honor and glorify God.
What we believe in:
- Membership–We recognize the need for a formal membership. We ask you to commit to membership for four reasons:
- Biblical Reason–Christ Committed to the Church (Eph. 5:25)
- Cultural Reason–It is an antidote to our society. It is an unselfish decision that builds character.
- Practical Reason–It defines who can be counted on.
- Personal Reason–It produces spiritual growth.
- Baptism–We practice baptism by immersion under water, the way Jesus was baptized, and the way the Bible commands. “For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ…” Col. 2:12
What to Expect
- Our worship services are not boring! As you participate in singing, our prayer is, that you will experience God's presence. As you interact with the message, our prayer is, that you will apply God's Word to your life.
- If you are looking for a church or are considering how to make Jesus Christ a part of your life, I encourage you to join us at the Lord's Grace. See you Sunday. God Bless you!
- Real Love, Real People, Real Connections.
